Ian Saxby is the current treasurer. He has responsibility for the accounts, insurance, facility booking, collecting income and making payments as well as producing required reports and telling us what we can and cannot afford.
There are two aspects of Mayfest outgoings, expenses and purchases.
Expenses range from postage, hire of equipment, etc. and are those payments that hit us either each year or each festival.
Purchases are those things we buy for Mayfest and expect to keep for a while. They include new weapons and costume, tentage, tools, rope, furniture and so on.
Mayfest currently is seeking to acquire quite a bit of new stuff and wishes to expand the publicity side a bit. Purchases and extra expenses have to be prioritised. It is the committee's job to do the prioritising and it is the treasurer's job to keep the prioritised list and let us know when we can afford things on it.
